Whisky & BBQ

What happens when you combine BBQ and Whisky?
Good things of course!
I am very lucky to be part of a Whisky Trifecta on 3/19 at the Brass Rail in Hoboken, NJ.
Gabe Erenzo, Distiller at Hudson Whiskey and Jim Patterson, Director of Business Development at the Whisky Guild, and I, will be sampling a total of 10 lovely whiskies to those in attendance.
In addition, these will all be paired with BBQ style hors d'oeuvres and platters.
I will be at the Balvenie table, pouring the Balvenie 12 Year Old Doublewood, the 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask, and the 15 Year Old Single Barrel.
Jim will be at the Glenfiddich table, pouring the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, the 15 Year Old (one of my favorites), and the oldest whisky in attendance that night...the Glenfiddich 18.
Last but certainly not least, Hudson Whiskey Distiller Gabe will be pouring his Hudson Baby Bourbon, 4 Grain Bourbon, Manhattan Rye, and the Single Malt.
It should be an amazing time, and I can't wait.  Especially since guests will get a Bottle of Hudson Whiskey of their choice to bring home!
I understand that this post is a bit of shameless self promotion, but as fans of this site know, I am always Brand Neutral in my reviews and my tastes.  It is that integrity that has carried me this far.
With that, I humbly ask for your forgiveness...this just happens to be an event that is worthy of spreading the word about, and one that I can get behind!  (especially to my local NJ, NY and PA whisky lovers)

It's been too long...

Where have I been?  My daughter took all my whisky!
Hey There!

It has been a little while since I updated this site, and I apologize for that.

No excuses, but rest assured, I have been a busy bee.   From working tastings, to the regular day job, to enjoying time with my family and chasing around my 16 month old daughter.

One of my goals for this year is to be a bit more involved in Social Media when it comes to whisky, and update this blog more frequently.

While I have found great success in person while conducting tastings and hosting whisky parties, many folks have recommended that I venture into Twitter and Facebook and things like that a bit more.  I have received some great reviews and comments from people about the few tasting notes I have posted, so I plan on being more active here.

After all, I have a pretty large set of tasting notes archived in my notebooks!  I'd love to get them all up here.

I have decided to take the plunge and start a Twitter account.

Many of you have already started following me, which I greatly appreciate.  The relaxed nature will be the same there as they are here, I am open to anything and will answer any questions that anyone has with joy!

I just really want to thank all of the kindhearted people of the whisky world for their support, and of course to all the supporters of this site and many other whisky blogs.

Be sure to check them out on the right side bar under 'Beloved Blogs'.

One of the latest additions is a link to Whisky Girl from the Netherlands.  You can count on her for sound whisky wisdom, and a unique perspective on all things whisky.  Check out her blind Twitter Tastings too!  What a great idea!
